Lorenzoni held off favored Eternal Flight in the stretch Monday to win the $31,000 Mr. Prospector Purse by 1 1/4 lengths at Aqueduct.

Laurent Goossens rode Lorenzoni to his first victory in four starts this year and only the third in 14 career starts. One of those victories was over Easy Goer in a six-furlong sprint on Aug. 1, 1988.

Eternal Flight, with Chris Antley aboard, was second in the field of six 3-year-olds and older, 1 3/4 lengths ahead of Clef.

Lorenzoni covered seven furlongs in 1:22 2/5 on the fast track to earn $18,600 and returned $15.40, $4.40 and $3.40. Eternal Flight paid $2.60 and $2.60 and Clef was $4.20.

Lorenzoni’s victory capped a record high Pick Six payoff of $767,998 for one Aqueduct patron. The largest previous pick six payoff in New York was the $666,735 paid to a single on-track patron on Oct. 26,1989.
