A 9-year-old girl hit by a foul ball during Monday night’s Seattle Mariners game against the Minnesota Twins at the Kingdome was in serious condition in a Seattle hospital.

Taft, attending the game with her father, was hit by a ball off the bat of Seattle third baseman Darnell Coles in the fifth inning. Coles plans to visit the girl in the hospital when she can receive visitors.
