Santa Fe Pacific Corp.: The transportation and natural resources firm said it had a first-quarter loss of $61.4 million, contrasted with a profit of $187.5 million in the same period a year ago. Revenue rose 8% to $744.1 million. The Chicago company said the results reflected a $115-million after-tax charge for the settlement of two separate lawsuits involving Energy Transportation Systems Inc. and Texas Utilities.
