A woman who led police on a 30-minute pursuit through the Mid-Wilshire District with her 10-month-old daughter in the front seat of her car was arrested for child endangerment after she was caught, police said Tuesday.

According to Lt. Ben Gering of the Metropolitan Division, the chase started at 11 p.m. Monday night. Officers in an unmarked car saw what they believed was a drug deal in progress involving a woman in a Volkswagen bug that was double-parked on 9th Street west of Mariposa Avenue. A patrol car tried to stop the woman a short distance away, but she eluded police until she drove into a construction area at Normandie Avenue and Beverly Boulevard, Gering said.

Karen Robinson, 31, was booked at the Sybil Brand Institute for Women on suspicion of child endangering, Gering said. The 10-month-old girl was unhurt and released to her father’s custody.
