Moonlit Swim Lands : 2 Boys in Hot Water
Two brothers, 4 and 6 years old, took a moonlit swim in a neighboring apartment house swimming pool Friday, prompting a puzzled call to police from the building manager and, later, a frantic call from their mother, Los Angeles police said.
The boys wandered out of their apartment in the 6700 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue about 2 a.m., carrying small plastic inner tubes, Sgt. Dallas Gibson said. The boys walked to a nearby apartment house pool and went in.
The boys’ activities drew the attention of the apartment building’s manager, who called the police after he couldn’t get the boys to tell him where they lived, Gibson said. Officers took the boys to a nearby hospital while attempting to determine where they lived.
About an hour later, the boys’ mother awoke and realized that they were gone. Gibson said there was a tearful reunion when the boys were brought home. The boys’ names were not released.
