Villanova’s women completed their second consecutive distance “triple,” and Arkansas raced to its sixth consecutive victory in the men’s 6,000-meter relay in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Texas Christian’s men won the 400-meter and 800-meter relays.
Villanova held on to win the 3,200-meter relay, adding that title to the distance medley relay championship it won Thursday and the 6,000-meter relay crown from Friday. Fifth-year senior Kathy Franey anchored all three victories.
With a team of Gilbert Contreras, Eric Henry, Johan Boakes and Reuben Reina, Arkansas was timed in a fast 14 minutes, 54.89 seconds. It was the second-fastest clocking of its six consecutive victories, behind only the 14:50.2 in 1985.
