The Orange Unified School District board plans to hire David L. Andrews as the replacement for Supt. John Ikard, board President Gloria Tuchman announced Monday night.

The board is in salary negotiations with Andrews, who is superintendent of the Rialto Unified School District, Tuchman said. Ikard announced he would resign following last November’s election in which three incumbent board members were ousted and two open seats were filled on the seven-member board.
