A sixth Long Beach-based sailor was charged Wednesday in a broadening drug case alleging the use and distribution of a highly addictive methamphetamine and tampering with urinalysis tests, the Navy said.
Operation Spec. 2nd Class Peter Danner is accused of three counts of using crystal methamphetamines and three counts of distributing the drug both on and off the John A. Moore, a guided missile frigate that is now used as a reserve training ship with crew of 160.
Four other sailors and the ship’s chief law enforcement officer were charged last month with 32 drug-related counts after a seven-month investigation at the Long Beach Naval Station.
The six face courts-martial and have been restricted to barracks.
