Professor Will Run for Scholarship Funds
John Barcellona, a professor of music at Cal State Long Beach, will run in the Long Beach Marathon today to initiate a scholarship for his students. He is raising money through sponsor pledges for each mile completed.
The University Woodwind Quintet, consisting of the music department’s five top students, made the finals in the Monterey National Chamber Music Competition. Barcellona would like to start a scholarship to reward these students for their efforts and to continue to attract the finest musicians to Cal State Long Beach.
Barcellona can be contacted at 985-4789 or through the university.
