Diann Roffe and Kristi Terzian, who carried the U.S. women’s ski team after world champion Tamara McKinney broke her leg in a preseason crash last winter, were named to lead the 1990-91 team.

McKinney, 27, who won the combined gold medal and took a bronze in the slalom at the 1989 world championships in Vail, Colo., was named to the A Team for the 13th consecutive year although she is still rehabilitating and won’t definitely return. Others on the squad are Hilary Lindh, Monique Pelletier, Edith Thys and Eva Twardokens.

A.J. Kitt, who started last winter ranked 74th in the world in the downhill but rose to No. 7 by the conclusion of the 1989-90 season, leads the five-skier men’s A Team. The team also includes Felix McGrath, Tommy Moe, Bob Ormsby and Tiger Shaw.
