SHORT TAKES : Hasselhoff Becomes a Father

Actor David Hasselhoff, who had a talking car on “Knight Rider” and cruised Malibu beaches as a lifeguard on “Bay Watch,” and his wife are the parents of a girl.
The five-pound baby was delivered by Cesarean section Saturday at an undisclosed hospital, publicist Jonni Hartman said Wednesday. The baby was one month premature.
Hasselhoff, 37, and Pamela Bach, 27, haven’t decided on a name. The couple was married Dec. 5 and the mother is an aspiring actress.
“They are waiting until he gets back from Germany this weekend,” said Hartman. Hasselhoff has been on a European tour to promote his recording career.
