Driver Dies in Crash on Angeles Forest Highway

A 21-year-old Sunland woman was killed when her car went out of control on Angeles Forest Highway north of Glendale and overturned, the California Highway Patrol reported Wednesday.

The accident occurred about a half-mile north of Big Tujunga Canyon Road about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, CHP Officer Sherry Noel said.

The woman was driving north when she lost control on a curve and the car overturned, Noel said.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the auto and killed.

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy driving by saw the wreckage a short time later.

The name of the victim was withheld until relatives could be notified of her death.
