Rogers Remains in 34th Place in Trump Race
Thurlow Rogers of Van Nuys remained in 34th place after Friday’s stage of the $300,000 Tour de Trump as America’s richest cycling race entered its final weekend.
Rogers maintained the position he held after Thursday’s stage, even though he was 57th in Friday’s 49.7-mile circuit race through New York City’s Central Park, finishing among a large pack of riders who all were credited with a time of 1 hour 45 minutes 26 seconds. Ed Kaczmarczyk of Toronto won the stage in 1:43.41.
The 11-day, 1,107-mile race continues today with the 123.7-mile Catskill-to-Albany (N.Y.) road race. The stage includes the Tour de Trump’s steepest climb, a 1,500-foot, three-mile ascent to Devil’s Kitchen.
The Tour de Trump will conclude Sunday with a 108.5-mile road race from Northampton, Mass. to Boston.
