Obviously James Boone (Letters, May 6) does not understand that the Friends of the Irvine Library awards to Orange County writers are intended to celebrate the creative effort and the commitment that goes into every book published, no matter what the subject.
I feel sure Rep. Bill Dannemeyer worked just as hard as any of the rest of us to see his work progress from idea to printed page.
It’s no easy task. And how nice when groups like Friends of the Irvine Library recognize that.
