Praise for Coverage of Measure I Petition
Robert Steinberg’s letter criticizing The Times’ coverage of the Culver City election is an outrage (Times, May 6). The Times should be praised for being first to report the story on the illegal use of the Measure I petitions by its opponents.
If there were a Pulitzer Prize for local journalism, The Times deserves consideration here. Your paper out-covered a daily and a Culver City-based paper on this important story.
Mr. Steinberg accuses the Times of “half-truths and innuendoes” but fails to make his case. As an opponent of Measure I (which he fails to state), he seems to be trying to become a spin doctor. Perhaps Mr. Steinberg should treat his own allergy--to the truth.
