Cannes Movies, Parties: Soviet director Pavel Lounguine’s major film debut, “Taxi Blues,” received a warm reception at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday. The film depicts the love-hate relationship between an alcoholic musician and a taxi driver in Moscow. But Colombian filmmaker Victor Manuel Gaviria’s “Rodrigo D. No Futuro”--which explores the street life of children in the Colombian drug capital of Medellin as the cocaine war rages--looks more likely to win an award, according to film critics attending the festival. The day’s events were highlighted by a party thrown by American distributors Carolco at the Hotel du Cap, 12 miles up the coast from Cannes. About 240 stars and filmmakers, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Douglas and Sylvester Stallone, showed up to promote their upcoming releases.
