Insurance Firm Sued Over Shooting: State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. was sued in Los Angeles Superior Court Wednesday for breach of contract by the wife and sister of a man who went on a shooting spree in September, 1988, allegedly firing more than 100 rounds. The suit, brought by Rosemary Gendreau-Wise, wife of the late John Southey Wise Jr., and her sister, Michele Gendreau, says they had homeowners insurance with State Farm. The suit asks the insurer to pay for settling lawsuits brought against the family by people injured in the attack. It also seeks payments to repair the residence and damages because benefits allegedly were withheld unreasonably. (Filed May 9, 1990. Case No. BC000762)
