One man was killed and another was hurt when a pickup truck crashed into a power pole in Lancaster on Tuesday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. The driver of the pickup ran from crash and has not been found.

Alan Stavropoulos, 25, of Lancaster was killed in the 2:30 a.m. accident at 3rd Street East and Avenue I, deputies said. Another passenger, Matthew Timson, 24, of Lancaster was being treated at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center and was reported to be in good condition.

Deputies said the southbound truck hit a power pole near the intersection. The force of the impact snapped the pole in half and power lines fell around the truck.
