BREA : 2 Men Hijack Truck, Abduct Rig’s Driver
A truck was hijacked and its driver abducted early Friday by two men who tied him up in the sleeper area of the vehicle’s cab at gunpoint, police said.
Marvin Beauchamp, of Chicago, was released in the Compton area in Los Angeles County, after which the men drove off with the rig’s tractor, Brea Police Detective Grant Gulickson said.
Beauchamp was sleeping outside the Albertson’s distribution center near Puente Street and Lambert Road, waiting for the center to open so he could unload his cargo of meats, when he was awakened at 3:30 a.m. by the men, Gulickson said.
The two men unhooked the truck’s trailer in the Compton area before releasing Beauchamp, then drove off with the tractor, Gulickson said. The tractor and trailer have yet to be found.
