Robber Kills Subway Rider Who Interfered in Holdup

NEW YORK — A subway robber took $30 from a man on a train Friday and shot to death another passenger who rose from his seat and yelled, “Leave him alone,” officials said. The holdup occurred on a train that was approaching a Lower Manhattan subway station. The gunman fled at the next stop.
