As peace comes to the rest of the world, it disappears from the area near El Toro Marine Base. Each plane leaving its European base seems to be stationed at the Orange County facility.

The constant scream of low-flying jets brings new meaning to the word incessant. One plane follows another in a never-ending torture. Adding insult and decibels are the planes that play games by flying two or three abreast, followed by house-shaking, air-beating helicopters.

I predict that in a few years, unable to read or communicate, those on the ground below this activity will be devoid of intelligence. Meeting some people who actually approve of this activity (“We need our boys up there”) makes me feel that this has already happened.
