A motorcycle passenger was fatally injured in a Hillcrest collision Sunday and died later at Mercy Hospital, authorities said.

Peggy Piseno, 45, was thrown from the motorcycle when a car “violated the motorcycle’s right of way” near the corner of Washington Street and 9th Avenue at 4:53 p.m., San Diego Police spokesman Sgt. Fred England said.

England said the car was attempting to turn south, from Washington onto 9th, when it struck the motorcycle, which was heading east on Washington.

The driver of the motorcycle, whose name was not released, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the car, whose name was not released, was not injured, England said.
