Merchant Marine Museum to Be Open

Share

Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II will hold a Memorial Day open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday aboard the Lane Victory. The Lane Victory, a World War II cargo ship, was built in 1945 and served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. The government gave the vessel to the U.S. Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II last year to be used as a living memorial museum.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted toward refurbishing the ship. The Lane Victory is tied up at Berth 52 in Los Angeles Harbor, 1 1/2 miles south of Ports O’ Call Village.
