An Offer He Could Refuse: Robert Duvall, acclaimed for his performances as Tom Hagen, the Corleone family lawyer in “The Godfather” won’t be in “Godfather, Part III.” He said the producers were “cheap. There are two or three other actors in that film being paid more than I was offered. That just isn’t right.” But he had just the opposite to say about his “Days of Thunder” co-star Tom Cruise: “I’ll tell you what kind of guy Tom Cruise is. At Christmas, I woke up to find a $25,000 jumping horse in my driveway. A present from Cruise.” Duvall keeps jumpers on his Virginia farm.
