Clifford Allen Not Worth His Time
The article on Clifford Allen left readers with a distorted and unfair picture of New Orleans Coach Tim Floyd. I have known Tim since 1983 when we were both assistants in the WAC--he at UTEP and I at Utah. I always found Tim’s recruiting practices to be fair, above board and always within NCAA guidelines. This year, New Orleans signed one of my players and followed the rules of NCAA recruiting practices to the letter.
The statements made that Tim Floyd violated NCAA recruiting rules were made by a convicted felon and his girlfriend. Those of us in the coaching profession would ask the readers to consider the source.
