ROLLING THE DICE: It’s become something of a guilty pleasure these days trying to spot our favorite rock stars playing bit parts in Hollywood films (recent faves being Neil Young’s shadowy roue in Alan Rudolph’s “Love at Large” and ZZ Top as hayseed troubadours in “Back to the Future III”). But when controversial comic Andrew Dice Clay’s “Adventures of Ford Fairlane” hits the theaters July 6, music fans will have a field day spotting moonlighting pop stars. (Of course, don’t expect to see Sinead O’Connor.) The film’s pop cast includes Motley Crue’s Vince Neil (who plays rocker Bobby Black, leader of the Black Plague), Tone Loc (as leader of a rap group), Morris Day (as record producer Don Cleveland), Sheila E. (as a torchy club singer) and Wayne Newton (as Julian Grendel, an evil record mogul). All but Newton and Day have songs on the film’s sound track, which is due June 19 on Elektra Records. Highlights? Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora performs a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “The Wind Cries Mary,” Billy Idol’s “Cradle of Love,” Tone Loc’s “Can’t Get Enough,” Motley Crue’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll Junkie” and Queensryche’s “Last Time in Paris.”
