Conserving Water

Share

With water a major concern in California, how concerned is the state government? Being a student at San Diego State University, I have viewed numerous applications of poor water usage. I have seen a lawn being over-watered to an extent where water streams down the curb several blocks. The university waters its lawns in the middle of hot and sunny days on a regular basis.

Being from Northern California, where mandatory water rationing has been part of my life for the past few years, I feel it is our duty as citizens to do the best we can to conserve water.

Why can’t over-watering be reduced to a minimum? Considering poor water usage is present at one major California university, it is most likely present at other state government facilities as well. Advertising for water conservation is abundantly present, asking citizens to conserve all the water they possibly can. What does the government actually do for water conservation?
