FILLMORE : Man, 21, Arrested on Burglary Charge

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after the alleged victim chased him away from her Fillmore house and called police.
Carlos Zavala was being held in the Main Jail in Ventura in lieu of $50,000 bail.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Mary Real arrived at her 1st Street home just before noon on Thursday and discovered that someone had broken into it. Spotting a man in her yard, she chased him to a nearby house, where he sought refuge, Lt. Joe Funchess said.
Real contacted the Sheriff’s Department, and deputies arrested Zavala at the second house, Funchess said. After searching the second house, authorities found a handgun and jewelry taken from Real’s home, Funchess said.
