Madonna’s infected throat has forced her to cancel another show. She scratched tonight’s performance in Worcester, Mass., and those with tickets will get refunds since the show won’t be rescheduled. Last month Madonna had to cancel a concert in Rosemont, Ill., because of her throat problem. . . . Ron Kovic, the Vietnam War paraplegic whose hawk-to-dove transformation was portrayed in the movie “Born on the Fourth of July,” fell ill and had to miss an appearance at Harvard University today. Kovic was to have spoken at Harvard’s Class Day exercises but a spokesman said he apparently fell ill just before getting on a plane in Los Angeles for the trip to Boston. The spokesman did not specify what was wrong with Kovic but said it was related to his paralysis and probably would have required emergency hospitalization if he had made the trip. . . . Paul McCartney didn’t like being called greedy by the manager of U2 just because he had a corporate sponsor for his recent tour. Paul McGuinness, speaking at a music forum last month, denounced McCartney for letting Visa sponsor him and also lashed the Who for having a beer company back their tour last year, especially since the Who’s Peter Townsend is a recovering alcoholic. Townsend wouldn’t comment, but McCartney responded with an eight-letter curse word. “My advice to Paul McGuinness is to grow up,” McCartney said in Rolling Stone. . . .
