Five High School Swimmers Are Headed to UCI

Five high school All-Americans have decided to attend UC Irvine and swim for the men’s swimming team.
The five are:
--Jason Sakamoto of San Marino High. He set a Southern Section 3-A record in the 100 breaststroke while leading his team to the title.
--Kevin Bates of Ygnacio Valley High in Concord, another breaststroke specialist.
--Eric Walton of Corona High. He set a 2-A Division record in the 50 freestyle, winning the event.
--Bret Foreman of Wilson High in Tacoma, Wash. He finished second at the state meet in the 100 backstroke.
--Pat Keenan of Richardson High in suburban Dallas. He was sixth in the state in the 100 butterfly.
