WEEKEND TV : Koppel Special Looks at Changes in Europe

Share

If you aren’t a fan of futbol (soccer to us Americans), or if the idea of watching Steffi Graf win yet another tennis tournament is about as thrilling as watching home movies of Uncle Ernie’s Death Valley vacation, fire up the barbecue and break out the sunscreen because TV offers little else in the way of original programming this weekend.

The one bright spot is Ted Koppel’s “World Without Walls,” taped at the University of Pennsylvania for broadcast Sunday at 9 p.m. on Channel 50 and 10:40 p.m. on Channel 28. “Nightline’s” esteemed anchorman moderates this three-part series exploring the revolutionary changes sweeping Eastern Europe and the political, economic and cultural impact that the collapse of communism is likely to have on the rest of the world. The series continues Monday and Tuesday at 9 p.m. (50) and 10 p.m. (28).

One time local real estate wunderkind Mike Glickman will discuss the recent bankruptcy of his San Fernando Valley firm Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on Channel 2’s “Newsmakers.”
