Inglewood Aids City in Jamaica
Inglewood residents have launched a book drive to replenish libraries destroyed in Inglewood’s sister city of Port Antonio, Jamaica, during last year’s hurricane.
A delegation of members from the Inglewood-Port Antonio Sister Cities Committee is traveling to Port Antonio next month to deliver whatever materials are collected.
With a population of close to 18,000, Port Antonio is a three-mile-long town on Jamaica’s eastern coast. It is known as the cradle of the country’s tourism industry.
Information about the book drive can be obtained by calling (213) 758-8034.
