SIDELINES : Football League Adds Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, West Germany — Frankfurt has been granted a franchise in the World League of American Football, league President Tex Schramm announced today.
The team will play its home games in the Waldstadion, a 61,000-seat stadium that is home of the Eintracht soccer team. Frankfurt has a large American population, with U.S. military bases in nearby Rhein-Main and Wiesbaden.
Frankfurt joins Barcelona, Spain; Montreal; Orlando, Fla.; Birmingham, Ala.; San Antonio, and Sacramento in the WLAF, which plans to have 12 teams in its first season beginning in March.
