Singer Harry Belafonte, conductor Andre Previn and the husband-and-wife acting team of Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee have been added to the board of directors of Kidwaves, a radio network that goes on the air in August. The purpose of the network is to combat illiteracy with programming aimed at children and adults. . . . In an unusual move, Universal Pictures will host free sneak previews of “Ghost Dad” starring Bill Cosby this Saturday at theaters across the country. Locally, the previews will be held at 10 a.m. at the Cineplex Odeon Universal City Cinema, the Regent Westwood, AMC Burbank, Mann Wilshire in Santa Monica and General Cinema Santa Ana. “Ghost Dad” opens nationwide on June 23. . . . After months without a name, NBC has decided to call Jane Pauley’s new prime time specials, “Real Life With Jane Pauley.” The five summer news specials, which begin July 17, are described as a “fresh, witty look at life in the 1990s, examining things that interest the average American and probing the problems and concerns that we all confront daily.”
