A South-Central Los Angeles man was found guilty Tuesday of seven felony counts in connection with a string of assaults against three San Fernando Valley women.
Deon Proby, 19, was convicted in San Fernando Superior Court on charges that included robbery, kidnaping for robbery and oral copulation--committed during two separate attacks in September, 1988.
Proby robbed all three women at gunpoint, kidnaped two and sexually assaulted another.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Craig R. Richman said he will seek a lifetime prison term when Proby is sentenced July 10. Richman said the kidnaping for robbery conviction alone carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
In an unrelated case, Proby is scheduled to stand trial today in Los Angeles Superior Court on 10 felony counts including rape, robbery and kidnaping stemming from three 1988 attacks on women students at the University of Southern California.
