Thieves stole a pickup truck while an 87-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s disease sat in the passenger seat Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Ann Littrell, a San Diego resident, parked her silver-blue truck in the 3100 block of University Avenue, leaving her mother and the keys inside the truck, said San Diego police Sgt. Jim Clear. When Littrell returned five minutes later, the truck and her mother were missing.

Police found her mother 90 minutes later, at about 4 p.m., several blocks away in the 3300 block of Herman Avenue. The elderly woman was in a wheelchair.
