The two friends were crossing Sullivan Street at Borchard Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday when they were struck by a car traveling north on Sullivan, Faust said.

Rosales was knocked away from the speeding vehicle while O’Campo tumbled in front and was pinned underneath, Faust said.

O’Campo was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m. at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Faust said.

Faust said the hit-and-run car is a large four-door, either dark or light blue, but police have no further description of the vehicle or its driver.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information about it is asked to call Investigator Gary Stover at (714) 647-5009.
