Robert D. Webb; Oscar Winner as Assistant Film Director

Robert D. Webb, 87, an assistant film director who in 1937 was given the last Academy Award ever granted in that category for his work on “In Old Chicago.” He worked often with director Henry King on such films as “Ramona,” “The Song of Bernadette,” “Captain From Castille,” “Wilson” and “In Old Chicago.” As a director his pictures included “Love Me Tender,” “Seven Cities of Gold” and “Beneath the 12-Mile Reef.” In Newport Beach on April 18.
