Suspect Arrested in Man’s Death

San Diego police arrested a suspect Saturday in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old city man who died Thursday from injuries sustained in a blow to the head, authorities said.
The suspect, Charles Downing, of San Diego, was to be booked on murder charges, a police spokesman said.
On June 18, police said, the suspect allegedly struck Juan Carlos Castro Sandoval on the head with a carpenter’s tool.
The incident occurred on the sidewalk of the 4700 block of Trojan Avenue, near the victim’s residence.
The victim died Thursday in Mercy Hospital.
No details were available about the motive for the alleged attack.
