Starr Won’t Return to Rams, Doucette Is Their New Voice

Ram radio announcer Bob Starr will not be returning next season, after all.

Starr, now a radio announcer for the Boston Red Sox, had been negotiating with KMPC to return after the baseball season.

“We tried to work things out, but, because of Bob’s commitments, just couldn’t do it,” KMPC General Manager Bill Ward said.

Ward said Eddie Doucette, previously hired as a fill-in for Starr, will become the permanent radio voice of the Rams.

Jack Youngblood is expected to return as the commentator, but Ward said, “We are still negotiating with Jack.”
