Norwalk : Deputy Superintendent of School District Appointed
Howard L. Rainey has been appointed deputy superintendent of the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District.
Rainey, who has been employed by the district for nearly 39 years, was assistant superintendent for business. Rainey, 63, served as acting superintendent for the 18,500-student district for most of the 1989-90 school year.
Rainey will be paid $76,824 a year, which is about a 6% increase over his previous pay. Rainey will continue to be in charge of business operations, but his new duties will include supervision of personnel.
