A 21-year-old San Diego man was killed early Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail along University Avenue near the Hillcrest area, police said.
The victim was identified as Matthew Thomas Murray. He was pronounced dead at 8:22 a.m. at UC San Diego Medical Center.
No one else was injured in the incident, which occurred at 7:50 a.m., authorities said.
The victim was driving his motorcycle westbound on University when he lost control of the motorcycle and the vehicle crashed into a guardrail on the ramp leading to Washington Avenue. The victim was thrown to the pavement.
San Diego police were investigating the incident.
