Elderly Man Found Slain; Car Missing
An elderly El Monte man was found slain inside his apartment early Thursday and authorities were looking for the victim’s missing new car, police said.
Police found the victim inside his apartment shortly before 9 a.m., Detective Paul Bunnell said.
The victim, in his 70s, had been dead for no more than a day, said Bunnell, who said his identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Bunnell declined to say how the man was killed, but no weapon was recovered.
Detectives were searching for the victim’s missing car, a 1990 two-door red Toyota Celica or Corolla, license 2TIL037.
