American Michael Johnson ran the fastest 200 meters in the world this year, 19.85 seconds, during the International Athletes’ Club Grand Prix in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was the fastest 200 meters ever run in Britain.

American Andrew Valmon won the men’s 400 meters, edging European champion Roger Black of Britain in 44.99 seconds to beat the stadium record set 20 years ago.
