DOES PETE WILSON HAVE A HEART?

Share

“RoboPol” points out Wilson’s failure to endorse the critical California desert protection legislation, currently before Congress.

Why after four years, six Congressional hearings and an outpouring of citizen letters has the self-proclaimed “environmentally conscious” senator refused to support this critical piece of conservation?

Without his support, passage of the bill will be difficult. Meanwhile, fragile desert lands and wildlife continue to be damaged and threatened (example, desert tortoise) by forces more concerned with short-term use than long-run conservation.

It is important for the voting public to know that this legislation would preserve 7.5 million acres of new desert wilderness and National Park lands. Even his opponents John Van de Kamp and Dianne Feinstein endorse passage of the bill.

In becomes clear then that, when it comes to the desert, candidate Pete Wilson does not have a heart.
