LOCAL : Santa Clarita Crash Injures 2
Two people suffered major injuries Sunday night after a van swerved across the center divider and crashed head-on with a pickup truck on the Antelope Valley Freeway in Santa Clarita, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol Officer Ralph Elvira said the van was driving north near Sand Canyon Road at about 8:50 p.m. when it crossed the center divider and hit the southbound pickup.
Both drivers were airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. The names of the accident victims were not immediately available.
Southbound lanes of the freeway were closed for 40 minutes as crews cleaned up debris from the accident.
