James Brown to Become Housebound?: Soul singer James Brown could finish his prison sentence for aggravated assault at home if the paper work is completed. Brown, who is within 1 1/2 years of being eligible for parole, meets a requirement for extended work release, said Francis X. Archibald, spokesman for the South Carolina Department of Corrections. The move home could take about a month if a close relative completes the paper work, he said. Brown has been living at the Lower Savannah Work Release Center since April 14 on a limited work-release program.
