SIMI VALLEY : Woman Kidnaped, Sexually Assaulted

Simi Valley police were investigating Thursday the kidnaping and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in the Civic Center area, authorities said.

The woman, who was not identified, was abducted about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of the Simi Valley Development Services building in the 3800 block of Alamo Street, Lt. Neal Rein said. The victim was talking on a pay phone when a car pulled up and the driver jumped out and grabbed her, Rein said.

The suspect, described as a Latino male in his early 20s, forced the woman into his car and drove her to a secluded southeast area of the city, where he assaulted her, Rein said.

The assailant drove the victim back to where she was abducted, released her and drove off, Rein said. The woman was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, treated for minor injuries and released, he said.
