Woman Crossing Street Killed by Car
SANTA ANA —
A 72-year-old woman was struck and killed by a motorist Saturday night as she was trying to walk across a busy street, Santa Ana police said.
Thelma L. Wolfe of Santa Ana was killed as she was trying to cross West 1st Street midway between Broadway and Ross Street about 6:10 p.m., Police Sgt. Rich Murg said.
“She walked right in front of the car,” Murg said.
The driver of the 1979 Mercury Zephyr that struck Wolfe was not cited, Murg said.
