Tuesday: Celebrities help Disneyland celebrate its 35th birthday, as Roy Disney, vice chairman of the board for Walt Disney Co., re-dedicates the amusement park.

Thursday: The Shostokovich String Quartet begins a two-day engagement at UCLA in the first American tour by what is widely considered the Soviet Union’s foremost quartet.

Friday: Lancaster Festival 1990, a nine-day event filled with music, dance, theater and visual art highlighted by seven world-premiere performances, opens in Ohio.

Saturday: Roger Waters heads an all-star gala concert performance of “The Wall” at the Berlin Wall. Featured performers: Sinead O’Connor, Van Morrison, Cyndi Lauper, the Band, the Scorpions, Joni Mitchell, Albert Finney, Marianne Faithfull, Bryan Adams, Thomas Dolby, Tim Curry and Jerry Hall.
